Summary:

In the 26 years of Robert Mugabe’s rule the life expectancy of women in Zimbabwe has reduced from 65 to 34. The economy has collapsed and the most basic services are lacking. Mugabe’s secret police stifles any notion of dissent apart from the defiant and courageous Jenni Williams’ Woza (Women of Zimbabwe Arise).

Here’s a country that makes pre-war Iraq and Afghanistan look like Beverly Hills. So why no need for “regime change” and “leading to democracy”?

Here’s a clue:

Oil – production: 0 bbl/day

Natural gas – production: 0 cu m

Women have the world's lowest life expectancy

A rusted wire fence divides the old Zimbabwe from the new. On the one side lies Effie Malamba; born in 1901 she was buried beneath a granite headstone 90 years later. On the other is Sylvia Ncube; born in 1974 she was laid to rest just 32 years later. The wire separates Bulawayo’s old Hyde Park cemetery from the extension opened this February. Effie lies amid ordered ranks of stone epitaphs. Sylvia lies in a chaos of churned earth. All around her the mounds of mud and stones, garlanded with plastic flowers, tell the story of the shocking disintegration of Zimbabwe, which now has the lowest life expectancy for women anywhere in the world: 34.

A forest of black metal plates marks the mounting death toll and their hand-painted white numbers record the birth dates of a missing generation. Thulan Sabanda, born 1972; Ozia Moyo in 1971, Lulu Olomo in 1975, are just three of hundreds.

Oil – good point.

I must draw attention to the obvious lie in the title (of The Independent’s piece).

Starvation and AIDS.

So, it’s murderous lack of resources….and screwing that’s killing these people.

And the solution is…

AZT and Nevirapine. These are what are mistakenly called ‘antiretrovirals’.

Have a read on AZT if you want to comment on it. Here Nevirapine, too. Here

AIDS is a brand, and a brand-name. It’s our name for anything that happens to Africans, to gay men, to blacks in this country. It’s the way we can get something out of nothing.

No oil, no resources, a corrupt, murderous leader.

So we’ll monitor and control the population by giving them tests that don’t test for anything, and we’ll sell them drugs that ‘save them’ but also kill them (_paid for by US taxes, by UNAIDS, by you and me, and by big, bad pharma Looking Good for the liberals who confuse what happened to gay men with what happens to starving Africans_).

While we make sure that the population adheres to some bizarre idea that sex, which actually develops the population, also destroys it.

It’s Malthusian economics, and it’s Eugenic, to be sure.

If you want to imagine that this kind of thing was new to Africa, or to the world, before “AIDS,” I’d suggest reading Thomas Malthus on Africa or Margaret Sanger on Eugenics. (”There is but one practical and feasible program in handling the great problem of the feeble-minded. That is, as the best authorities are agreed, to prevent the birth of those who would transmit imbecility to their descendants.“)

They are the father and mother of our do-gooding ‘science‘.

AIDS in Africa – In search of the Truth

People don’t die of sex, unless they’ve had syphillis for a couple of decades. People die all the time. Poor people die the most.

It’s always been that way, it’ll always be that way. We’re not doing Good by pretending that sex kills poor people, (_and that is what we’re pretending_). Poor kills poor people.

A more truthful headline would be “Diseases that have traditionally plagued Africans but are now called “AIDS”, and starvation”.

notdansavage @ 11/23/06 18:03:29

Look it’s a bird, no it’s a plane, no, it’s the Aids Brigade. Da da da daaaaaaaaa! To the rescue.

aphrodite @ 11/23/06 18:19:16

Not very loving, goddess of love. We’re not the AIDS brigade, we just don’t buy the lies as easily as you do, I suppose.

Liam @ 11/24/06 13:01:08

PS – we’re always accepting new members, if you care to join. All you have to do is open your mind a little, and try to imagine that not everything bad that happens in the world happens because black and gay people have sex.

Try it. It’s liberating.

Liam @ 11/24/06 13:03:02

But, everything bad does happen in the world because black and gay people have sex. If Hitler were gay and black he would have been the most evil person to have ever lived. As it is, that crown belongs to Wesley Snipes1.

1 That’s right, Wesley Snipes is black2.

2 Bet ya didn’t realize that.

aphrodite @ 11/24/06 17:09:49

At least you’re funny, mighty aphrodite.

But you should’ve referenced my pal Wesley for his eeeeviillll dodgy behavior:

I couldn’t think of a black homosexual celebrity. :-(

aphrodite @ 11/25/06 12:03:59

Liam, regardless of the response of the outside world, I don’t see how any objective person could not put most of the blame for this catastrophe on the Mugabe regime. Perhaps we’ll someday learn that this madman was the puppet of a cabal to exterminate the Zimbabwe people, but at this time Mugable appears to be part of a simpler pattern of criminal, self-serving leaders.

tingbudong @ 11/25/06 16:22:13

Thanks tingbudong,

I need some education on Mugabe, in the details. I’ll do my reading. But it’s a similar story since I remember in Uganda, Congo, Central African Republic, South Africa, etc.

The history of a harsh continent, used and abused.
