Junta shadowed Nagai before his slaying says Burma guide

The murder of journalists. The murder of students. The murder of monks. The complete & total control of the media. A legacy of such behavior stretching back decades.

What more do the last supporters of this miitary junta regime need to see before they will finally boycott the Burmese ‘leadership’ ?

Video journalist Kenji Nagai was under surveillance by a suspected junta agent before he was gunned down while covering the government crackdown on democracy advocates in Yangon in September, his Myanmar guide said Friday in Tokyo.
Tokyo-based APF News Inc., with which the 50-year-old Nagai had a news contract, helped the Myanmar man, who is in his 20s, come to Japan in October to free him from the junta’s suppression, rally organizers said. The man said at the meeting that he was asked by Nagai to serve as his guide on Sept. 26, the day before the journalist was killed by a junta soldier.

On that day, a man, apparently a junta agent, spoke to Nagai in Japanese, the guide said. Myanmar troops continued to keep watch on Nagai while he was covering demonstrators and security forces shortly before he was shot, he said.

The guide said he warned Nagai of the danger but the journalist told him: “It’s OK. Keep distant from me….
