Check out GNN’s music video production for Chronic Future single Time and Time Again

Conceptually inspired by our recent research into the plight of the American soldier, the Time and Time Again music video was created in collaboration with our core compadres at Black Mustache, Phong, and just a little bit of help from the Department of Defense. Combining the hand drawn skills of Haik Hoisington and the photo-compositing animation of Anson Vogt, the team that brought you Eminem’s White America reunites for another shot at injecting today’s blissful music consumers with a dose of GNN reality.

As military spending continues to increase, so too does the pressure on American youth to join the US armed forces. To many it is often seen as the best route to perceived upward mobility. Once referred to as, “The magic carpet to the middle class,” the GI Bill that was established in 1944 has for 60 years continued to provide education and home loan funding in exchange for military service. In 2003, over 400,000 young Americans were receiving educational funding from the program. However, classwork and diplomas are increasingly taking a backseat as these men and women are called to action in the Middle East.

GNN’s production of Time and Time Again for Interscope/ Vagrant Records attempts to bring this dilemma to the center of the pop culture plate. Immediately picked up by FUSE and selected by MTV for TRL and M|2 it seems that even the mainstream music pimps think it’s about time to let somebody say something. Given the Army’s heavy advertising weight at all of the music channels as they continue their congressionally funded recruitment drive, we don’t expect the video to last long on the air. We will have to see if times really have changed since they pulled the Michael Moore – System of a Down Boom video in the lead up to Iraq after only a few spins. But remember you can always just check it out here.
